Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) at Global Air Navigation Services (Abu Dhabi)
Job Summary
Global Air Navigation Services (GANS), the sole air navigation service provider operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, is recruiting licensed and experienced Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCO). The appointed ATCO will be responsible for ensuring the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic within UAE controlled airspace, radar approach sectors, and aerodrome control towers in strict compliance with General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) regulations and ICAO standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage continuous radar and visual surveillance to maintain prescribed vertical and lateral separation standards between aircraft.
- Issue clear navigation clearances, departure/arrival instructions, taxi routes, and altitude adjustments to flight crews via VHF radio communications.
- Coordinate aircraft handovers seamlessly between adjacent control sectors, terminal control areas, and en-route air navigation centers.
- Monitor meteorological developments, wind shear alerts, and runway conditions to adjust traffic sequencing and minimize airspace delays.
- Execute emergency response procedures, priority landings, and contingency protocols in coordination with airport rescue and fire-fighting (ARFF) units.
- Maintain accurate electronic flight progress strips, log operational events, and comply with safety management system (SMS) reporting standards.
