What you will do

Banks and relationships

  • Be the main contact for relationship managers at local and international banks, in the UAE and New York.
  • Watch daily cash positions across all bank accounts, and move funds between accounts so there is enough cash for operations without leaving too much idle.
  • Manage online banking access for all banks, and prepare, review and coordinate approval of banking instructions.
  • Handle bank account administration, including updating signatories, KYC compliance and supporting documents.
  • Build working relationships with NYU’s head office treasury, the controller’s office, the payments team and funding agencies.
  • Help evaluate and carry out short-term investments such as term deposits and money market placements, with analysis and recommendations for senior management.
  • Work with finance, accounting and budget teams to check cash and investment transactions and the related reporting.
  • Monitor foreign currency exposure and support FX guidance under NYU and NYUAD policies.

Reporting and cash operations

  • Help prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for NYU head office, NYUAD leadership, funding agencies and banks.
  • Gather and check financial information to show the university’s financial and investment position accurately.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and analyze variances.
  • Oversee the main campus petty cash fund, including the on-site vault, monthly cash counts, disbursements across departments and cash collection.
  • Run the corporate card program, including card limits and contact with the banks.

Compliance

  • Apply the investment policy, check compliance regularly and report any possible breach immediately.
  • Help manage NYUAD’s investments to meet its financial goals.
  • Follow guidelines on ethics, confidentiality and cyber security.

Analysis and improvement

  • Research and compare short-term investment proposals and recommend suitable ones for approval.
  • Build financial models and dashboards.
  • Keep up with global and regional economic news, interest rates (including US Fed rates), financial markets and banking conditions.
  • Support reviews of consultants and banking relationships.
  • Help improve treasury tools, such as dashboards in Tableau, Power BI or treasury systems like Kyriba, and develop investment, withdrawal and spending policies aligned with NYU’s global practices.
  • Monitor counterparty exposure, banking limits, concentration risk and liquidity risk under approved policies.
