Registered Nurse – Outpatient Department (OPD)
Job Summary
About the role
Medcare, the premium healthcare division of Aster DM Healthcare, is hiring a nurse for its outpatient clinics at its Ansar location in Dubai. This is a senior nursing role. You would give direct patient care and also act as the lead nurse in your assigned clinics, guiding the other nurses and support staff.
What you will do
Patient care
- Give nursing care that follows evidence-based practice and the hospital’s policies.
- Assess patients’ physical, psychological and social needs.
- Watch patients’ condition, record it, and report how they respond to treatment.
- Give medicines, vaccinations, IV treatments and other therapies safely and accurately.
- Assist doctors during consultations, examinations and minor procedures.
- Provide nursing care before and after procedures.
- Respond quickly to emergencies, worsening conditions and adverse events.
- Follow infection control standards and keep patients safe at all times.
Leadership
- Act as the senior nurse for your assigned OPD clinics.
- Supervise and guide registered nurses, assistant nurses and support staff day to day.
- Help staff grow through coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision.
- Take part in orienting new nurses.
- Check that nursing practice meets clinical standards and regulations.
- Pass clinical and operational concerns to nursing leadership.
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- A valid DHA Registered Nurse licence, or eligibility for one
- Current BLS certification
- Preferred: a master’s degree in nursing, healthcare management or a related field, and ACLS certification
