Job Summary
About the role
Al Tayer is hiring a driver to move vehicles from the docks to its pre-delivery inspection (PDI) centre, and then on to showrooms across the UAE. You would drive a recovery vehicle (a car carrier truck), so safe loading, careful driving and good route choices are the core of the job.
What you will do
- Keep the recovery vehicle clean every day, and make sure it gets regular servicing as the manufacturer and Al Tayer require.
- Collect vehicles from the docks and the PDI centre and deliver them to showrooms around the UAE.
- Follow the delivery schedule given by the Fleet Coordinator.
- Load and unload vehicles using the correct procedure and safety standards, so there is no damage to the cars, the recovery unit or the public.
- Check each vehicle for scratches, dents or other damage before loading and after unloading, note it on the collection or delivery document, and get the document signed by the customer.
- Follow traffic rules and stay alert while driving to avoid accidents.
- Keep learning UAE roads and locations so you can pick the best routes.
What the employer is looking for
- A Heavy Truck licence (No. 4) and a Light Vehicle licence (No. 3). Both are required.
- High school or “O” Levels
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience

Vehicle inspection checklist before loading
- Walk around the car and look at every panel, the bumpers and the wheels.
- Note scratches, dents or missing parts on the delivery document.
- Check the car is in neutral or park as required, and the handbrake is set.
- Make sure the tie-downs are tight and the ramp is secure.
- Check again after unloading, then get the signature.
